Eating Out of The Pantry Challenge: Taking Inventory
Wow! I never knew we had so much food to use! After taking on the challenge of eating out of our pantry hosted by Money Saving Mom and Jessica I decided step one was to take inventory of what food we have on hand. I had wanted to start before today but we were out of town for a ministry conference last week and did not get settled until two days ago. Yesterday and today I spent doing an inventory of what we have on hand and was pleasantly surprised that we had so much! It may become interesting later on though to see what kind of concotions we can come up with. I decided I wanted to post our weekly menu on Monday and an evaluation of the week on Friday. Usually our weekends are up in the air due to ministry events and retreats so that is the reason they are not included. I am looking forward to this frugal adventure and hope that you will come along with our family to enjoy the fun! On Friday I will follow up with pictures and recipes for some of our menu items!
Here is our menu plan for the week:
Monday: Bean and Sausage soup with cornbread
Tuesday: Spaghetti cheese Pie with foccacia bread
Wednesday: Salmon patty and veggies
Thursday: Leftover bean soup and grilled cheese
Friday and Saturday out of town.
I have not planned our lunches as of yet but will try to do so next week. Yesterday we had pb and j and today we had grilled cheese with pasta salad. We will follow up on Friday!
