Financial Goals: February Financial Wrap-Up
So we have been tracking toward our financial goals for almost two months now. It has taken us some getting used to but we are keeping on. We started this journey to be debt free in January of this year with a goal to be debt free by May 2011. At the same time we are attempting to move to a cash system with our monthly expenditures specifically: groceries/household and dining out. We tried to do the envelope system with gas but realized it would be more simple if we would keep using our debit card for gas because it is a fixed need and it works best for our family. I am pleased to say that we only spent $183 of our $200 budget for groceries/household budget and we had about $19 left in our dinning out budget. We truly are on a journey to becoming debt free and learning how to be better stewards of our finances.
Another exciting announcement is that we have paid off 65% of our outstanding consumer debt! We only have 35% left! I am not sure what we are going to do yet as a celebration but I am going to start planning! Do you have any financial goals? I would love to hear and be encouraged from your goals as well!
